Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (aka The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) is a very awesome anime. I can’t find the right words to describe how good this anime is. Now that I think about it, I should also get the manga and TV drama of this. ♥

The movie is about a girl who accidentally got the ability to leap through time. That’s pretty obvious, right? There’s nothinge exceptional about this girl whose name is Makoto. Well, not until she got the ability. Makoto, Chiaki, and Kousuke are close friends. They usually play baseball after school. One time, after doing after class chores, she went to their school’s Chemistry laboratory. There’s an extra room there. Makoto went in and checked because she heard someone in there. But the room was empty. In there, she found a walnut-shaped shiny thing. She was about to pick it up, but fell by surprise when she noticed someone get in the room. Her elbow hit the shiny thing (that looked like it hurt) and that’s when she got the ability to leap through time. She only found out at a later time that the shiny thing was the cause of it and her power is limited to the number of times she could use it. In the end, Makoto learned that time isn’t something to be taken for granted and to take control of. Time is precious. Once the opportunity is there, we should take or do it. She would sometimes go back in time and change things. Even so, is she sure that the outcome would be better than it should be? Or would it be worse? I like how the series ended. I wanted closure, but I’m somehow satisfied.

It would be best if you watch the movie. I highly recommend it. For those in the Philippines, Cinemanila will show the movie on the 14th of August at 5PM.
