Onii-sama e… Ep. 1-31

February 22, 2010 @ 3:21 pm (0 Comments)

Instead of watching Kimi ni Todoke, I have been watching “Onii-sama e…” It’s an early 90’s series, so finding it was hard. I watched it as soon as I was able to get a copy. What made me watch the series is that I heard there are shoujo-ai hints in it. I have no other idea what it is about other than it’s set in an all-girls school. Thus, the shoujo-ai. *lol* The first two episodes were happy and drama-less although there already were appearances of seemingly weird characters. ^_^V After that, it was all drama. Sometimes the drama goes overboard that it’s hard to bear. Save for Kaoru-no-Kimi and Nanako’s friend, everyone seems to want to die at some point. ^_^V

The story started out slowly, but carefully showing the maturity of the characters. Being already in episode 31, I must say that Mariko who was selfish and childish at first has shown true maturity. It takes as much as a family problem and classroom incident to awaken her. Miya-sama is an example of someone whose looks can be deceiving. She always seems composed which earns her respect from juniors and seniors. Yet she’s a manipulating biatch. I expected that of her, but not the manipulating kind that would even abuse her power. She is also, in my opinion, the most dramatic character in the series. She hasn’t moved on from her “heartbreak” since she was 12 years old. I don’t even know what to say about what she did when her love didn’t show up in her party. She’s at an age when she can handle love matters by using her mind and not just with her heart.

My favorite character, so far, is Kaoru-no-Kimi. One should love life whether you’re sick or not. Instead of wasting energy in worrying with problems or dramas that can eventually be solved, just indulge in activities. Keeping self busy is good to divert from emotional stress. *sighs* I should remind myself often of that.

Kimi ni Todoke Ep. 11-13

January 9, 2010 @ 2:08 pm (0 Comments)

O M G

Episode 13 almost drove me to tears because of Kazehaya and Sawako. XDDD; But I’ll save that for later. :P Review/rant starts at episode 11.

Episode 11
The sports fest is starting out good for Sawako’s class. Sawako should pursue playing soccer because she does have incredible speed… Unlikely of her character. *lol*

Episode 11

Sawako’s honesty about her feelings is doing her good. Most people find that hard to do and I say that in regards to real life. She understood quickly that she cannot support others especially if their special someone is special to her too. I like seeing Kurumi’s true side — mean and scheming. Her sweetness and kindness makes me wanna barf. How I wanna bitchslap her. ~_~

Other than seeing the true side of Kurumi, Kazehaya’s cute, shy, and selfish side is also seen. Very cute. How I want a boy like him. :P

Episode 12

Sanada-kun's a cutie
Sanada-kun’s a cutie

The episode of Sawako’s “romantic” realization, proof of Kurumi’s schemes, and how Sanada seems like an older brother of Sawako. *lol* Kurumi may have planned something, but it’s backfiring as it’s helping the two. Hrhr~

I hate the cliffhanger though the next episode’s preview has helped me patiently wait. I’m so glad Kazehaya isn’t some weak guy. XD

Episode 13

Clueless Sawako
Clueless Sawako

HRHRHR~ I ♥ this episode. Kazehaya and Sawako would make a very cute couple. I understand why he would like Sawako. Her innocence is too appealing. If I were a guy, I would want her to be my girlfriend and protect her from all the impurities in the world. *rofl* Kidding aside, I’m crossing my fingers that nothing disastrous will come out of Yano and Chizuru’s confrontation to Kurumi. The reaction of Sawako is what I’m actually scared of. How would she take knowing the truth?

Kimi ni Todoke Ep. 10

December 20, 2009 @ 4:04 am (0 Comments)

This is the episode I have been dreading — an episode that concerns Kurumizawa. She’s the cliche character who tries to be all cutesy and would do everything (not obviously evul) just so she could get the guy she likes. ~_~ Of course, Sawako is oblivious to this because she’s blinded by Kurumizawa (her full surname) being very nice, caring, and friendly.

Sawako’s innocence on love makes her so pure, cute, and lovable. It’s cute when she speaks to Kazehaya of what she honestly feels. Most girls aren’t like that, so I’m guessing that’s why Kazehaya has grown fond of her. Plus that cute smile of hers.

Cute pairing?
They were bothered by Kurumi-chan, but
Sawako didn’t see it that way.

I knew there’s something about that “Kurumi-chan”! I get this feeling she’s the one who made up the story of Sawako spreading bad things about Sawako’s two friends.

Kimi ni Todoke Ep. 1-9

December 8, 2009 @ 10:43 pm (0 Comments)

I’m back to watching anime after months! ^_^ I hope I can keep this up.

Kimi ni Todoke is the story of Sawako who has mostly lived her school days alone. People kept their distance because people have misconceptions about her. Things are different now that she reached high school. She has friends which she claims to be due to the help of Kazehaya Shota.

Sawako-chan

The story of the anime is simple yet Sawako’s innocence on life and friendship makes it a sweet and touching one that you’ll be intrigued to see what happens in every episode. I either get teary-eyed or cry in almost all I’ve watched so far. Episode 5 is the best, imo. Sawako is entirely new to the feelings of happiness in being and having friends when, suddenly, she starts losing them due to rumors and assumptions. She decided to ignore her new friends so she wouldn’t hurt them further. That is actually a common scenario. The lack of communication is hard especially when you’re unsure whether they will believe in you or not.

I cried when Sawako realized that she forgot how she survived being alone. I felt that way just a few months back. I was not really alone like how Sawako was, but the primary source of my happiness left me. There is a huge difference between when you’re able to stay with the person you hold very dear to and when you can’t be with them anymore.

Telepathy Shoujo Ran Ep. 1-5

April 26, 2009 @ 10:04 pm (0 Comments)

Telepathy Shoujo Ran, from what I’ve watched so far, is about Ran who has telepathic powers (duh) who’s been using her powers to help solve mysteries. It is not clear yet why she doesn’t seem to know about her power in the start. Ran isn’t the only one who has telepathic powers though. She comes across this girl named Midori who, at first, was able to search her down. Midori had been looking for someone who has the same powers as her. She seemed evul and took advantage of their abilities that includes hurting others. But that changed when Ran, even though Midori was mean at her, didn’t have second thoughts to be friends with her. Midori only needed acceptance because she was hated by her parents. Rui, on the other hand, is a childhood friend of Ran. He doesn’t have telepathic powers like the two girls. What he’s capable of is to nullify Ran’s powers.

Rui and Ran

I’ve already seen episodes 1 to 5 of the series. So far so good. The first 2-3 episodes are about Ran’s encounter with Midori. They got along well and even discovered another person who has the same powers. Instead of being “friends” with that person, she becomes their enemy. They have been crossing paths with her. I don’t know yet if she’s still the case in the latest episode I’ve seen. Bah at cliffhangers. =_= I am eager to know the background of their powers especially Ran. She who wouldn’t have known about her power if it weren’t for Midori. Also, Ran’s powers seem stronger than Midori’s which is another I’m curious of.

Evul Midori

The first few minutes I started watching the series, it gave this Card Captor Sakura feel. It’s all cutesy and kiddie-like then crimes or unnatural phenomenon happen around town. Very interesting, however, and the art is different from the usual anime so I’m watching it. ^_^

Keroro Gunsou Ep. 107

March 8, 2009 @ 11:52 pm (0 Comments)

It’s been a while! *lol* I got busy due to a lot of things, but I’ll dwell on that next time. XD; Time to make some reviews/rants on random Keroro Gunsou episodes. I did a marathon on this anime, so I can’t and don’t have the time to do that per episode considering how long the series is already.

It’s time for the school health examinations and Keroro uses this opportunity to see who is worth recruiting for their Keron army. XD; Tamama does the eye check-up. He’s making the students read weird sentences and characters. Giroro is doing the ear check-up through determining where the war enemies are coming from. Kururu is doing the dental exams which is, of course, frightening. *lol* Keroro, on the other hand, is a female nurse just checking on each of them. Natsumi eventually finds out their plans and tries to catch them. The chasing caused a major ruckus that causes poor Fuyuki to get in the mess — almost the whole school body saw him in his underwear. ^_^V Fuyuki is really pissed at Natsumi because of that. Since Keroro doesn’t want to be blamed too, he tries to let them make up through various competitions.

I always find it amusing to see Keroro and the rest of the frogs dressed up. Keroro as a female is always a winnar. *lol*

Nurse Keroro

In the end, it wasn’t what happened at school that got Fuyuki mad. It’s because one of his occult magazines got thrown away. Unfortunately for Keroro, it was his fault as well as Giroro’s that the magazine is gone. XD;

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 15

Good thing the recap of the series is short. Some series devote a whole episode for that. ~_~

HOT *_*
They look hot.
Yes, even Teika. XD

I didn’t think that the episode is about the anniversary of Ouka and Kyouka. The recap should have been a sign. *facepalms* I found Kyouka cute at first when she kept forcing Ouka to eat her bad-looking cake. She was even pouting and crying like a little girl. Oh wait, she _is_ a little girl, right? XDDD;

Cute! XD
Cute! XD

I can’t figure out if Hiratsuka is good or bad. She gives bad vibes, but she would help the Midarezaki family. I didn’t like her giving the wand to Kyouka that turns her into a “mahou shoujo.” @_@ That was annoying.

GAAAH

LOLz~
I don’t have to say it again.

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 12-14

September 27, 2008 @ 11:06 pm (0 Comments)

On a roll? Nah, just trying to catch up. XD;

Episode 12

The setting of this episode was set before the family formed; when Kyouka was still looking for the bureau. It’s another of those slightly unrelated to the protagonists. Not very informative even to Kyouka’s story, imo, even though she’s in it.

Katsura banging his head

Oh well, the story is cute. Reminded me even of Chobits except that, instead of a robot, Katsura picks up a stray cat.

Milcatopy and Katsura's neighbor

She’s not as cute as Chi though. I wish she is; somebody less annoying too. She could have talked right away since she knew how to instead of going Nyaa~n or Meow at first. >_> Rry, not cute. Her weird name proves her uncuteness (if there’s such word!). LOLz~ Calling her Cat is less than lacking creativity. Why say this story cute then? It’s because of the kiss in the ending. XD

I believed Katsura’s reason for being so depressed most of the time is because he did something worst than to fake being college student. D: Not much of a shocking news since he isn’t a bad person at all. There’s no wonder his professor didn’t take his confession heavily. Another thing, I doubt the police or guards that dressed up like soldiers in a mecha anime are unlikely to pick him up because of that “school crime” of his. *facepalm*

Ahh, Hyouka’s first love… That didn’t seem like it in the end. :/ Why are we back on the history of Hyouka again? Tsk.

Love

I still think that Hyouka is a girl even though she, I mean, he looks like he’s got busts. @_@ I was kind of hoping this episode will prove the audience wrong and that he’s actually a girl. :O

This episode is full of ODD in it. It seems Hyouka can easily blend in the society. You know, living with normal people and they wouldn’t even question why he’s a robot. Same goes with Teika or probably even Gekka. Kiriko hung out with Hyouka as if he was a normal human; not even shocked or scared at their first meeting . They went to a carnival-like place that Ouka recommended that was full of people and things not normal. Kiriko was only surprised that such place exists. What normal and boring character… D: Well, I didn’t want her to go “Kyaaa!” or something ^_^V

Kyouka was being childish again in this episode. More than usual. I liked how dominating she was. She did a lot of immature stuff, but still had sense. Now she’s like just another character that I think I’m beginning to dislike. DX

Cosplay Kyouka

In the end, Hyouka didn’t like Kiriko but he probably just missed Kiriko’s sister who he lived with for a short while until he accidentally killed her. He hid the memory away. Seeing Kiriko slowly returned his memory that’s why he was having head pains imo. Dr. Gecko did some contribution to it too. He seems more evil than the saru professor.

The way this anime is going, it will probably take a while before it gets back right on track. I miss seeing them working together whether to help others or destroy things. LOLz

Gintama Ep. 46-49

September 23, 2008 @ 1:01 am (0 Comments)

Episode 46

Otae and Ane caused a ruckus in a bar they both work in. The manager wasn’t too pleased. Other than that, Otae has been excessively doing her bodyguard duties by beating the crap out of the pervy customers. Ane’s also a problem with her leeching off too much money from her customers. The manager decides one of them should leave the bar in one month as the ruckus can’t go on forever. Whoever gets to stay will be decided the following day as to whoever can get the most sales.

Before the night ended while Ane was on her way home, Otae apologized to her. Ane didn’t expect that as she was looking forward to a showdown of some sorts. *lol* But, of course, Otae wasn’t that kind. XDDD; She only made up that drama and had Gintoki and Hasegawa go to the bar. She forced the two poor guys to order Dom Perignon to boost her sales. Ane, furious about this, called up Matsudaira. It could have been an easy win for her, but Gorilla showed up to help Otae. XDDD It became a battle of who-orders-the-most-Dom-Perignon. Gorilla’s money was wiped out a little later. Otae couldn’t accept this fact so she had him and the 2 other guys to get more money. Matsudaira was also running out of cash. Ane didn’t let this go easily too. She had him withdraw money from his bank. *lol* In the end, none of the girls were asked to leave. Good for them, but not for the guys. XD;

This episode also has the “Oshiete, sensei” segment. Gintoki teaches the viewers how to draw himself, Kagura, and Shinpachi. He says that Shinpachi is the basis for a lot of characters.

The episode’s funny as usual, but I really pity the guys for being used by the two wicked girls. *lol* Especially Gorilla! I wonder if Otae will ever really like him. ^_^V

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 10

I have a lot of catching up to do. D:

Mujyakey
Mujyakey
She looks a bit like Yuuka

Mujyakey's pink ship
Mujyakey’s pink ship

The family is on another vacation again in an unknown island. Pierre is with them too. While everybody was playing, a pink pirate ship arrives. They’re not the typical pirates though. They aren’t violent and aim to be loved by everyone. Ouka says that defeats the definition of a pirate. ^_^V True that. They also sell fish which is why they are there because Pierre buys from them. He ordered a lot of mackerel… More than his refrigerator can take. So he makes sushi out of most of them. Gekka, such a glutton to sushi, eats them and never gives any to the rest of the family even one piece. *lol* When the family was arguing for the mackerel, a young girl speaks up, but she’s nowhere to be seen. Well, she was mistakenly placed with the mackerel; hidden underneath those fish. This girl is actually the captain of the pirate ship. Her name is Mujyakey, the daughter of cold-hearted pirate Growald.

Do Gone, another pirate, shows up. He used to be Growald’s right-hand man, but he betrayed them when Growald died. He’s now after the treasure map that Mujyakey has. During Mujyakey and Do Gone’s verbal fight, Kyouka took the map as she wants the treasure too. She was then taken away by Do Gone. Mujyakey and her crew go after Do Gone. Ouka and family went with them without even asking permission first. *lol*

There's something wrong here
There’s something wrong here ^_^V

They caught up with Do Gone with the help of a pair legs from Mujyakey’s ship. *lol* That was weird. XD; Do Gone unexpectedly shot them with canons when Mujyakey was climbing on a pole. Kyouka rescues her when she was falling, but that doesn’t come free. Kyouka was charging Mujyakey for 100YEN. Since she couldn’t pay, Kyouka takes over the ship as the captain! She orders the crew to fight back against Do Gone, almost destroying his ship. The ship that totally got destroyed was Mujyakey’s. Pink tentacles came from the ocean and brought it down. My guess would be those were Gekka’s. *lol* The crew along with Ouka’s family were swept into what seems to be an abandoned island. It’s also were Growald’s treasure is.

The search for the treasure went easily. Too bad, the treasure isn’t gold nor silver. :3 The path on treasure finding was to help Mujyakey realize her full potential as a pirate. Do Gone only helped her because he was asked by Growald before he died. It was so effective because finding out the gold and silver are hidden somewhere pissed Mujyakey off, revealing her true nature. Do Gone began to fear her as well as Ouka and the family. ^_^V

I didn’t expect Kyouka to be scared of Mujyakey. I mean, she was just fighting on the previous episodes. Now she’s all scared. She’s the headstrong and brave character yet she’s being OOC. >_> I hope the next episode would be better — a motivating one.

Gintama Ep. 43 (last part) to 45

August 23, 2008 @ 11:35 am (0 Comments)

Episode 43 (last part) and 44

Episode 43

Episode 44

Elizabeth has been kidnapped! The story was introduced after the main story of episode 43. Forgot to include that in the previous review/summary. ^_^V Anyway, Elizabeth was kidnapped by Toyama Chintarou. He does anything he wants with no fright because he’s got money. Katsura asked the Yorozuya for help by bribing them with sweets/food. Then they ask for Sa-chan’s help by teaching them at least the basics of ninja. It wasn’t that easy to ask Sa-chan because she’s got excuses, but Gintoki’s bullying actually helped. ^_^V

Before the actual training, Sa-chan made them wear ninja clothes. She told them they shouldn’t wear flashy clothes, so they won’t be easily seen. Yet the color of their clothes are too striking. XD; Shinpachi’s wearing a black-spotted white ninja suit, Gintoki’s all white, Katsura’s yellow, and Kagura’s red. Their first training is to buy porn magazine from a bookstore without getting noticed. Katsura would have done great if it weren’t for the curry he was carrying. Katsura came after, but didn’t get to buy the JUMP magazine (she’s still young to buy a porn mag *lol*) because she accidentally got dog poo on her clothes. Gintoki came next, but his camouflage failed. XD; Last was Shinpachi who was able to buy the magazine with no problems because his existence was unimportant. *rofl* Poor Shinpachi! XDDD;

The Goninja, as they call themselves, went to Toyama Chintarou’s to rescue Elizabeth after their training. They also had a hilarious introduction of each character like Shinpachi as Ninja Holstein. *lol*

Katsura attacked recklessly as soon as he saw Elizabeth. They undergo various traps similar to that of Takeshi’s Castle (that’s what we call it here in the Phils.). In the last trap, they would have to face the Shinobi-5 led by Hattori Zenzou. Goninja wins of course after going through nonsensical and hilarious figting. Elizabeth wasn’t returned to them though because she really wasn’t there in the first place. Toyama Chintarou only used an Elizabeth doll to lure out Katsura.

Is it just me or does Gintoki have bigger muscles here? O_o He looks so… Manly with those muscles. *lol* He also looks cute and HOT wearing Sa-chan’s glasses. XD; I’m glad this is another funny episode because I can’t seem to take seeing drama in this series. ^_^V Oh, I wonder where Elizabeth went. She only went missing because she and Katsura had a fight over soba.

Before Ouka became a member of the government paranormal agency, it seems he’s part of some underground group that “raises grim reapers.” :/ The entire episode isn’t about that though. Ouka went out without Kyouka knowledge. She was throwing a tantrum and all her children could do was watch. ^^; Yuuka though being an all-too-innocent girl mentioned that their Dad was dressed when he went out. Then Teika blurted out that they should keep quiet about the secret. This made Kyouka angrier than earlier and jealous because she thinks Ouka is cheating on her.

Ouka did go out, but to meet an old friend Shinigami. Kyouka chased after them. She had a short verbal argument with Shinigami then retreated because Ouka told her that her presence will only make things complicated. Poor Kyouka. ^_^V Ouka seems to have matters to discuss with her Shinigami yet Shinigami is determined that they’re on a date.

Kyouka didn’t exactly go home. Instead, the kids and her came up with a plan to destroy the date. They also caused a ruckus in the amusement park, so Ouka and Shinigami were forced to go somewhere else. They find a creepy amusement named Slave War Amusement Park. They will go through a series of re-enactments of war and witness what’s like in the battlefield. Along the way, their train cart was destroyed and something or someone has been shooting at them. As Ouka thinks of a way to get out and asks Shinigami to throw a grenade to clear their way, Shinigami was possessed by someone called Odessa Ei. She wanted to directly attack Kyouka, but she freed Shinigami when an unknown voice told Odessa Ei to stop. She only did so for a little while — waiting for the right moment to attack or torture Kyouka.

Even though they were in danger, they still went to ride the ferris wheel. Only Shinigami and Ouka rode because Kyouka lost to Shinigami. *lol* During the ride, Shinigami must have sensed danger. She carried Ouka and jumped from their cart. Ouka thought it was double-suicide, but Shinigami only rescued Ouka from Odessa Ei who burned down the ferris wheel. D: A man named Suiar appeared to rescue the two.

That Suiar was the one who asked Odessa Ei to stop attacking. Kyouka demanded for answers to what she really is and why she was being attacked. Suire didn’t last long though. The body he was using broke down (it’s actually a robot). All of a sudden, everything around the park started moving. They were attacked again. They ran to the nearest haunted house. But Shinigami and Kyouka fell down in an underground dump to be drilled/shred into bits. They cooperated and was able to escape. Again, Odessa Ei used Shinigami’s body to kill Kyouka. Odessa Ei should have won. Thank goodness for Ouka for showing up at the last minute. He threw something wooden at Shinigami causing Odessa Ei to leave the body as well as her mask to fall off. Shinigami freaked out as she didn’t want to be seen without her mask because of her scar. She kept hitting the air with her sword and accidentally hit Ouka.

Kyouka got pissed and told Shinigami that her feelings for Ouka weren’t love… It’s that she doesn’t want to be hated by Ouka. Fortunately, Ouka wasn’t really killed. A part of his suit only tore off. ^_^V

Odessa Ei and Suiar left finally. Odessa Ei sort of finally understood why Kyouka wanted to live in the human world.

Suiar gave a short background on Kyouka. She was formerly called Vanessa and was queen of the demon world. It’s not clear if she was driven away, but she made a wish to be human and seemed to be given the chance. Yet, her memories were erased so that people wouldn’t find out of the demon world. When she left, Odessa Ei was the successor. During her ruling, she was always compared to her charismatic sister. She thought it’s best to defeat Kyouka, so her people will start thinking she’s better.

I thought Odessa Ei would be some big time enemy, but when she just left in the end I thought otherwise. Shinigami would have been badass too with her mask (except she should change her “attire”). Since she’s not wearing it, she became all mushy and sweet. The ending was lame with Kyouka and her getting along. They were even blushing! ~_~

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 5-7

August 6, 2008 @ 3:48 pm (0 Comments)

I totally neglected this series because of Keroro Gunsou. ^_^V

Episode 05

Finally, the Midarezaki family HONEYMOON! :D Such a weird honeymoon, but it looks fun. *lol*

Kyouka had a runway made in front of their house (I wonder what happened to the neighbors? *lol*). XD The travel agency also acted like airport personnel to see the family off. The airplane was even custom-made for Kyouka. Must be nice to live that way, but I feel bad for all the people who have to be troubled for her. ^_^V

The flight became a disaster because Kyouka tried to fly the plane causing it to crash to the water. They landed on an uninhabited island with the kids separated from their parents. First to arrive were Hyouka and Yuuka with Hyouka coming from the sky. He said that he checked around the area and that the others were unhurt. The four other kids arrived next. Gekka became what looked like a floater. XD And Ginka sat on Teika’s back while he paddled. XDDD They’re so cute! *roflmao* As soon as they arrived, Kyouka suddenly decided that it’s time to swim!

Teika and Yuuka play chase, Chika handcuffs Ginka to her as she will try to turn him into a man *lol*, Hyouka makes a sand castle, and Gekka is happily swimming. ^__^ After a long day of playing, they decided to search for a place to stay. It’s true what Ouka said — They shouldn’t have worn themselves out by playing without even knowing where to go right after especially on an uninhabited island. ^^;;;

But Kyouka has a pamphlet with directions how to get to the hotel. Weird. Hotel on an uninhabited island? O_o They did find a hotel and Ouka finds this very suspicious. He is sure that Kyouka is behind this.

The hotel manger, Nishikura Akeru, shows them around and offers them exquisite food. Kyouka calls him Pierre though because of his attire — a white suit and a red bowtie. XD;;

After dinner, Ouka had a talk with Nishikura. He figures out that the bureau was troubled again by his wife into this vacation… And everything with it.

Unexpectedly, the hotel was invaded by some people… Or something! Hyouka goes to Ouka’s room to report what he knows about the situation. Ouka tells him not to kill, but to gather everyone and help protect the girls. He, on the other hand, will go to Kyouka’s room and punish her. He believes she’s the cause of this. But Kyouka is busying watching a romance-comedy anime. She can’t hear the noise and alarm because she’s wearing earphones (and an animal suit! SHE’S SO CUTE!!! HAHAHHA~). Anyway, they hear a scream so they ran out to the balcony. The monkies have taken Yuuka. Kyouka tries to attack, but was stopped by several monkies. *shakes head*

The family goes on a meeting to discuss the situation, but without Gekka. She had followed Yuuka and comforted her. She told her that it’s just a game. Kyouka uses her Cellphone skill to contact Yuuka. She sees that Yuuka’s treated nicely by the monkies. Kyouka tells her to try to search around for clues to determine her location. Yuuka walks around, finds a window, and she sees that she was brought to a floating island. Yuuka got frightened. She accidentally touched a Levistone — it’s a stone that is similar to what Hyouka has to make him fly. A voice tells Yuuka not to touch it then a room opens. Yuuka goes there and finds a monkey-looking old man.

The Levistone and an old man — it’s a hint that he’s somehow related to Hyouka.

Episode 06

The name of the professor is Saruwatari Inuhiko. He’s been living a lonely life on the floating island because people made fun of his looks. But he decided to live alone and make people of his. In the end, he admits to the truth that he needs to be with other humans… Someone who will take care of him. Thus the reason why the monkeys kidnapped Yuuka.

The professor may seem pitiful, but his actions make him otherwise. The rest of the family heads out to rescue Yuuka and Gekka. Kyouka comes up with a PARTY plan — Operation Feed the Scumbags. *lol* The first thing Inuhiko did was to stall the family, so that they wouldn’t be able to rescue Yuuka on time as he planned to turn her into a doll — somebody who will just obey his orders. The monkeys arrived, but they were the ones stalled. The party Kyouka planned was already on the go. Food and tables were served, there were dancers, and Pierre cooked nonstop. Then Kyouka told them she will give them more delicious food if they give her a crystal-looking blue thing. That thing Hyouka uses to levitate. It was also used for the island to float. The monkeys go back to the floating island to retrieve those. Because of the excitement, this caused the island to fall down. They panicked, but there was nothing else the monkeys can do. Hyouka took this opportunity to save Yuuka. As for what happened to the professor, he died. Before he did though, he came to understand how the monkeys care for him and that Hyouka was thankful that he was created.

There’s another happy ending for the Family Frenzy. ^_^ I didn’t quite get their plan at first, but after seeing the outcome… Who can really resist free delicious food, huh? XD The really hilarious part was seeing Ouka, Teika, and Ginka dancing in a tube-style dress. Only Ginka was enjoying it. *lol*

Episode 07

The story in this episode isn’t related to any of the family members, but to a classmate of Yuuka. The classmate’s name is Tsubaki. She asked help from Yuuka because her brother Shuu who owns and cooks for a restaurant causes people to collapse when they eat his food. He’s known as an assassin chef. The chief of the neighborhood association had asked them to leave because people seemed to have been complaining about their food. Their father also visited them and told them they should stick to being assassins. He tells them they can’t even serve food that will not harm people.

The family arrives one night to test his food. They all praised his food, but there’s one who still collapsed — Chika. She regains consciousness though. She tells him that she understands now why people collapse with his food. So Kyouka decides to train him. This is for him to be of level to normal people. Shuu and Tsubaki’s mother is a good cook. Her recipes are very delicious and with Shuu’s strong strength (I guess?) for being an assassin, it’s too much for normal people to take. ^_^V

I have nothing much to say about this episode. I wanted to see more about each member’s history. I wanna know more about Ginka. :D

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 2-4

July 5, 2008 @ 1:17 pm (0 Comments)

Episode 02

It’s Yuuka’s first day at school. She was so nervous that she made a couple of mistakes which ended up her classmates laughing at her. Only one student seems to be concerned. At home, they’re all happy and excited as usual except Ouka, Teika and Hyouka. Kyouka wants to have the real deal wedding. Ouka thinks it isn’t necessary when it’s just for a job, but Kyouka insists because she finds it fun. Ginka was also game for it because he’s already thinking of what songs to sing. He plans on doing a Frenzy Sisters trio and that includes Teika and Hyouka. *lol*

A little later, Yuuka arrives home and finds them all busy talking about the wedding. Kyouka makes her fit various dresses. After deciding on a dress, Yuuka takes her leave and is about to go to her room when Teika tells her that there’s a faint smell of blood. He asks then if there’s anything wrong at school, but Yuuka tells him that he shouldn’t tell the others. She doesn’t want the ruin the mood of the family with her problems.

Yuuka goes off to school the following day. Teika and Hyouka watch her leave… It’s like they’re up to something. Ouka notices them. He tells Kyouka about this, but she tells him that they’re probably just practicing for the wedding as the Frenzy Sisters. XD

Hyouka bugged Yuuka, so that’s how they found out about the bullying. They rushed at the school to try and save her, but they couldn’t do anything. Hyouka explains that they are family yet not blood-related. Hyouka’s point is probably they will be asked about their relation with her. Even more so when they do not human. ^^;;; The two quickly rush to Yuuka as soon as the bullies left. They didn’t know that their father also followed.

After school, Yuuka has locked herself in her room. She left a note for her father in the refrigerator that tells of her feelings and that she wants the world to disappear. Everyone finds out about her problem and comforts her. To make her feel better, Kyouka planned a revenge and way for Yuuka to be accepted in her class. They made a short action skit with Gekka and Teika as the mean duo who suddenly attacks Yuuka’s classmates. Hyouka will act as the combat robot that Yuuka transforms into. XD Things almost went as planned (Ouka had to control all the action *lol*), but what matters is that Yuuka was finally accepted by her classmates. They even praised her for being strong. ^_^

Ouka and Kyouka pushed through with the wedding. It looked like a huge one and they had a number of guests. Probably most come from the Great Japanese Empire Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures. :P

The bullying at school happens because of a certain girl. At this point, we don’t know her yet, but I’m sure we will soon. She ordered two of Yuuka’s classmates to bully her and even paid them to do it.

Episode 03

Poor Yuuka is still being bullied. It’s no thanks to her older sister who is angry at her for not staying in the Himemiya household anymore.

Yuuka was on her way to school, but she changed routes so that she wouldn’t have to encounter the bullies. In the other route, she finds her sister instead. She insists Yuuka to go back to Himemiya, but Yuuka of course doesn’t want to go back. She strangles her. Luckily, Ginka comes to the rescue. He scares Yuuka’s sister with a manly voice. XD; Yuuka’s sister was about to leave when she tells Ginka about where Yuuka comes from. Ginka is surprised. Looks like he and the Himemiya have some connection. Yuuka’s sister asks Ginka’s name. She was surprised when he told her… Much like Ginka when he found out hers. Her name btw is Himemiya Senko.

Later on, Ginka reveals that he was supposed to save Senko from the terrible household she lives in, but he didn’t. He feels bad for it especially when he’s living now with Yuuka.

It was already night time. Yuuka was still out. She’s getting beat up again by her classmates with Senko watching them. She’s even urging them to keep on beating her. *shakes head* Again, Ginka comes to the rescue. Senko laughs at him, but someone suddenly invaded her thoughts… Or something to that effect. We’re unsure who it is, but we know it isn’t Kyouka. Ginka can hear the things being said to Senko. There are water bubbles which I think is a hint. Is it Gekka doing this? O_o Senko passes out.

Her terror doesn’t end there. Whoever it is, is invading her thoughts and scaring the heck out of her. She wakes up from her nightmare… This time, Kyouka’s threatening her. Ouka stops her and explains the situation to Senko. Kyouka then decides that they should fight against Himemiya as a way to save the 2 girls.

They infiltrated the promises with a surprise attack. It’s surprising that the Himemiya’s guards are too weak. XD; They should be the ones being beaten to shape them up. *lol*

They had Senko tested if she’s also a daughter of Enka. She isn’t really, but Kyouka cheated… Now she’s part of the Midarezaki family. ^_^

Episode 04

Chika, aka Senko, suggested to Kyouka to go out on a honeymoon on August 2. As that date is the traditional honeymoon date. This honeymoon will be different though because the whole family will go instead of only the married couple. *lol* Chika helps Kyouka look for an agency to book a trip and they were able to do on their 264th call — at the Sakurai Agency.

They visit the agency the following day to check what places the travel agent Chieri will suggest to them. It wasn’t a peaceful visit since Kyouka does like to make a “grand” entrance. Kyouka played around first before talking to Chieri. Things get messier because of the branch chief. He did some “tribal magic” and cursed the co-workers who always stand by Chieri. Kyouka, Chieri, and the other kids saw him by accident in his office dancing half naked. Kyouka thought it was some sort of welcoming gimmick for her. *lol*

The branch chief was then asked by Kyouka to accomodate them. He took this opportunity and kept Chieri out of his way. Ginka noticed something weird, I guess, so he and Chika followed Chieri and would rescue her everytime something seemingly accidental happens to her. But one time there were too late and Chieri was taken away by the cursed co-workers.

Kyouka and Yuuka asked for Chieri to discuss the trip, but the branch chief had other plans for them. He plans on doing everything even though evil so the sales will go to him. He shows this new device that will let their customers get a feel of the places they can go to. Kyouka played with it though until the machine went down. Then she got bored and told the branch chief they’ll be back after lunch. She also told him that what she wants to talk about is Mu.

During lunch, the branch chief cursed all the employees of the travel agency. He made them all help him to make sure he get the Midarezaki family to sign the contract. Kyouka and Chika made a loud entry again to the agency through the branch chief’s window. They see him again half-naked, but with a weirder costume. XP

He then shows them what they’re capable of. Kyouka almost gave up since everything she said they’re able to prove to her. But Chika didn’t want to just sign the contract without love or hard labor in planning. Then the other children arrive destroying almost everything. *lol* Ouka was also there, but to arrest the branch chief for illegal use of curses. XD;

Ginka was able to find Chieri, but she was still cursed. She takes Ginka as a hostage using a pointed stick. Ginka freaks out. The branch chief takes this opportunity to run away. But Kyouka throws Hyouka and Gekka to the branch chief, leaving him flat on the ground. XD;

Chieri snapped out of the curse and was surprised at what happened. Feeling bad about her attempt in hurting a customer, she said she isn’t fit for that job anymore. Kyouka scolds her, but to make her understand that quitting isn’t an option after all her hard work and that she should think about the customers who want to go on trips.

So far, nothing weird in this episode. I wish it’s another episode that will discuss about a character’s history. But I guess that’s too cliche and this series might end up getting boring. ^_^V

Kyouran Kazoku Nikki Ep. 1

June 12, 2008 @ 2:19 pm (0 Comments)

A girl is being chased by the police for stealing fish. The number of police going after her is startling though because of a single fish. ^^;;; She was able to run away, but she lost her hold of the fish she stole. *lol* Her thievery doesn’t end there. She sees a fruit stand and grabs an apple. She was about to take a bite when a man suddenly stops her. Surprised by her cat tail and ears, he was even more surprised when she said she’s 20 years old. She looks like she’s only a grade schooler. *lol* Seems their meeting was no coincidence. Kyouka has been looking for the Great Japanese Empire Paranormal Phenomena Bureau of Measures and the guy (who introduced himself as Midarezaki Ouka) works there as a squad captain.

Ouka brings Kyouka there for her to meet the higher ups. He didn’t know that she was expected. He was then was assigned to a grave mission of saving the earth — by marrying Kyouka. XD He was very surprised, but he couldn’t resist. Not because he liked her, but he had no choice. *lol* He won’t be working only as a husband, but he would be looking after 5 children as well. Their next task is to look for them.

The children along with Kyouka are the children of Enka. A demon who lived thousands years ago who swore that his child will bring end to the world. That’s where Ouka comes in. He has to look after the children to make sure that nothing of such will happen. Fortunately, the episodes won’t be draggy with them looking for the children. They were all found in one day because, surprisingly, there are all within the area. They first found 4 children — a girl named Yuka, Gekka the jellyfish (or UMA as said by Kyouka *lol*), a robot named Hyouka, and a lion named Teika. After disastrous encounters and events, they went home to find another child. Ouka was relieved to see him because he thought there was someone he could talk to. But the son is actually gay. ^^;;;

Kyouka is hilarious! She has become my favorite character in this series even though her cat tail and ears are annoying. (Sorry, I dislike cats.) Her being frank, acting all high and mighty, and childlike at the same time is what makes her funny. She tries to act like a true mother even though she’s sometimes out of the line. (Who makes their children lick their parents’ shoes? *lol*) My favorite line of hers in this episode is (to Kyouka), “You obviously exist to play the loser role.” XD

Gintama Ep. 41-43

June 5, 2008 @ 2:00 pm (0 Comments)

Episode 41

So Gintoki tells Kagura to go back to her father. Kagura, shocked and left with no choice, does so. She wonders why Gintoki asked her to leave. Then there’s a short flashback about Kagura’s past with her family and the planet she came from. Her mother died while her father and brother were away working their asses off. Now it is understood why she came to Earth. In the airport, her father says how unkind of her friends to not see her off. Back at Yorozuya, Shinpachi freaks out when he found out Gintoki abandoned Kagura. He wanted to tell him how important the place is for her, but forgets it and quits.

Kagura was all gloomy in the plane. Her father was making a commotion as he badly needs to go to the toilet. The stewardess tries to stop him, but he charges through the doors and finds the baka-prince sitting on the toilet. XD While baka-oji is “busy”, his personal assistant is busy giving orders to those in charge of looking after the prince’s monstrous-looking pets. Accidentally, his assistant trips and knocks down a glass container where one of the prince’s pets are kept. Suddenly, that “pet” coming from the container grows huge and attacks the ship they’re all in (including Kagura and her father). Not only does it attack the ship, the monster goes to Shinpachi’s direction. (Shinpachi, climbing from very tall ladder, was there trying to stop Kagura from leaving Earth. Guards were after him even. *lol*)

Gintoki and their pet are doing some part-time work advertising a movie entitled Yakuza vs. Alien. *lol* But they were called by the movie manager and saw the live news on a monster attacking the Terminal. As soon as Gintoki sees Kagura fighting the monster alone, he rushes to the Terminal with Sadaharu. The monster was growing awfully huge, so it’s hard to tell how they will be able to defeat the monster.

Kagura is seen in the end of the episode lying on the ground w/ blood that seems to come from her stomach/front.

Cliffhanger! O_O

Episode 42

This is the last part of this alien-attacks-the-Terminal story. Things doesn’t look very good for Umibouzu. He sees his daughter dragged by the alien. Gintoki arrives, exiting from a monster’s mouth. He was so near Kagura, yet he couldn’t reach out for her. And so, Kagura was quickly taken away. Umibouzu questioned Gintoki’s presence knowing he abandoned Kagura. Gintoki told him he’s not there to take away Kagura. He just doesn’t want her to die to some alien. Both of them give everything they got to kill the alien. Later on, the core of the alien drops off hanging from the bottom of the ship. It became so huge after taking lots of energy from the Terminal. On the core, they saw Kagura attached and then quickly sucked in. To add more to their problem, the Shogunate arrives with battleships. Gorilla (I forgot his name *lol*) tells him not to attack because there are civilians on the alien. But he doesn’t listen and presses the fire button of his ship’s cannon. On the other hand, Gintoki was able to free Kagura from the alien. She was on berserk mode though. He was able to wake her up by teasing her using her favorite snack. They were suddenly shot with the cannon, looking unprepared. But they were saved by Umibouzu and his extremely strong umbrella. @_@;

Man, Gintoki can be jerk sometimes, but I just like how he shows his care for others especially for Shinpachi and Kagura. He said that it’s odd how much he could advice and help others when he hasn’t experienced anything like having a family and caring parents. That’s actually applicable irl. Like to me, for example. I give advices to friends and acquaintances when I haven’t experienced their problems. I guess it’s because I’ve seen and learned a lot from other people’s experiences? Though when I’m in a pinch, I’m clueless on what to do. :/

Episode 43

Everybody believes Kagura left with her father, so now they’re looking for a new female heroine. Three females fight for that role — Catherine, Sa-chan, and Otae-san. Catherine gets disqualified most of the time because she’s not really the “every guy’s type.” *lol* It was creepy seeing her in a sailor-style school uniform. ^_^;;;

None of the girls win because they kept bickering and even threatening the guys as to who will win the new female heroine contest. Otae is hilarious, but with Sa-chan around, the episode gets funnier. XD Kagura shows up in the end and tells them that only she will be able to keep up with them. ^_^ Which is true. *lol*

Dennou Coil Ep. 17

May 20, 2008 @ 4:58 am (0 Comments)

Haraken kept having dreams about Kana. His Aunt, concerned about him, had told him to have a thorough check-up at the hospital. The girls, on the other hand, are busy with other things. Yasako was supposed to start right away on her independent research, but got distracted when she saw Amasawa and her 2 underlings. Amasawa was going to capture another Illegal to complete whatever she’s trying to do. You know, I kind of understand her intentions — saving her brother simply put — but her method is confusing me. Why was she collecting those Illegals again? I mean, inside her body? O_o

Yasako goes to the library to search online about kirabugs and its importance. While reading, she was startled when Haraken greets behind her. They went outside to talk about an obsolete space that she discovered from following Amasawa. Then she tells him about what Amasawa and her talked about in the hospital regarding her brother and the kirabugs. It seems Haraken gets an idea from that, but doesn’t tell it to Yasako. When Yasako was about to confess, as it seems to me, about something, Haraken cuts her off and tells her that they should check the next day the obsolete space. They didn’t get to meet the following day though since Haraken goes ahead of her. He searches frantically for Amasawa. He asks her 2 underlings, but they ran away from him. Things didn’t look too well with Amasawa when Haraken’s Aunt suddenly went to there to erase her encodes. The 2 underlings tried everything to chase the Satchii off. Only to no avail. During this chaos, Haraken finally sees Amasawa. He tells her that he wants to do a trade with her — his offer is that he’ll give her the access code to the Satchii if she will help him get to the other side. Yasako realizes that Haraken might have gone to the obsolete space without her since the obsolete space is near where Kanna died.

Wow, a lot (but nothing too complicated) happened in this episode. ~_~ This took me days to figure out how to summarize the episode. It shouldn’t be too hard. I guess this episode wasn’t that interesting for me. The topless Haraken didn’t even make up for it. *lol* J/k! Anyway, Haraken is still obviously into Kanna. Whether he likes her or not, he believes that she is in danger. He plans on saving her by going to the other side. He must be thinking that if he takes back the what-seemed-like soul of Kanna to their normal world, Kanna would be alive and kicking again.

Dennou Coil Ep. 16

April 26, 2008 @ 11:59 pm (0 Comments)

Yasako had a dream of 4-4-2-3 again, but the episode doesn’t revolve around that. Yasako and Fumie are left with finishing their research paper for the summer. Fumie wanted to finish it right away with what they only have. Yasako didn’t like the idea of just leaving it at that when they told Haraken they would help him. In the middle of their research discussion, Yasako gets a call from the hospital about her grandmother. Not only her grandmother created trouble in the hospital, she also became a patient when she was only visited a friend. *lol* The next scene is about the mystery guy with Haraken’s sister. He will be working in the same department as her but as a superior. So we get a hint that he’s not much of a mystery guy when he’s acquainted with her. :P

Yasako went back to the hospital to get the medicine her grandmother forgot. She suddenly hears voices similar to that when an obsolete space is nearby. She finds out it’s only Fumie’s little brother spying on Amasawa. Not only that, she sees the pictures of FUmie his Micet took including pictures of Yasako tripping or falling down a hole. XD She couldn’t The two end up watching Amasawa who was also in the hospital. Yasako sees a bed-ridden boy having the same scar with 4-4-2-3. She freaks out even more when she sees the room number Amasawa went in.

So we find out more about Amasawa’s past and her connection to 4-4-2-3. No wonder she’s a boyish biatch. XD

Dennou Coil Ep. 13-15

April 23, 2008 @ 2:49 pm (0 Comments)

Episode 13

The episode is about Denpa who’s secretly raising an Illegal. His Illegal isn’t the dangerous type though. It’s rather afraid of humans except for Denpa. It likes him because he feeds it. Denpa named it Plesio. There used to be many of them, but they disappeared one by one until the last small one was left. It grew in time as it ate a lot. Plesios can only stay in dark places. Anything that’s light destroys their bodies. A little later in the episode, Denpa discovers that a building will be constructed where Plesio is living. So Denpa, Haraken, Fumie, and Yasako look for a place to relocate it. They did it at night, but because of many hurdles they didn’t get to arrive at the place they found for Plesio until dawn came. They try to hurry, but to no avail. Plesio saw factory chimneys that looked like his family. He desperately went to that factory, but the sun rose quickly. Poor Plesio. He was so cute even though he was all black and just curves. ^_^V His shape is like how a kid would draw a dinosaur.

This is a really touching and sad episode. It’s hard to get attached to something whether it’s alive or not. We just have to accept the fact that nothing lasts forever, but memories do and that’s something we can forever keep in our hearts and minds. ^_^

Episode 14

More than half of this episode is a recap narrated by Fumie’s brother. He also shows us proofs of how his sister “abuses” him that he’s going to use to sue his siter when he becomes a policeman or lawyer. :P The rest of the episode is Haraken’s encounter with the mysterious guy who seems to be watching him and the other kids’ actions. He gives Haraken a warning about researching deeper on Illegals and whatnot. He also mentions to him about Dennou Coil.

Episode 15

Yasako goes at the other side of the Daikoku station to look for obsolote spaces, but ends up getting lost. Then three boys go after her as they had mistaken her to be Yuko Amasawa when one of them overhears Yasako’s mom call her Yuko. She ran away and was able to hide with the help of another 6th grader boy named Takeru. As they walk around the area, Yuko feels she has been there before. She tries to remember what happened to her at that place when she was little with the help of, once again, Takeru. He offered to help since he’s familiar with the place.

Yasako desperately runs through the place she thinks she’s been before. Then she discovers an obsolete space through Imago. But a lot of Kyuu-chan arrived and erased them before she was able to follow the fog along a street. Takeru also stopped her because he believes it’s dangerous if she goes any further.

It was already night time when Yasako arrived home. She takes a bath, thinks about Takeru and her mysterious past. Then the last scene is with Takeru on a phone call. He told whoever he was talking to that he met someone with Imago just like Kanna.

Man, some episodes get boring, but episodes like this deepen the mystery. The Kanna girl sure is interesting.

Dennou Coil Ep. 11-12

November 16, 2007 @ 4:20 am (0 Comments)

I’ve seen up to episode 20 of Dennou Coil. I should catch up on my summaries and reviews. -_-

Episode 11

Daichi plans to catch an Illegal so he could get a lot of metabugs. He came up with that idea after thinking about Isako’s activities. They got an Illegal with the help with Kyoko (Yasako’s younger sister). Daichi wouldn’t listen to Denpa who kept telling him that Illegals are dangerous. It was a very small fish yet it created a Space of its own. He fed the fish with random textures. It kept growing every time he feeds it. The fish grew so huge that it was already outside of his home and Spaces occupied in different parts of the town. Everybody was surprised. Tamako went out to find the culprit. She finds Daichi and arrests him for the trouble he made.

Denpa asks Fumie and Yasako to keep Daichi from being arrested. They didn’t know he was already caught. Megabaa, on the other hand, went to investigate. Tamako asked her for help. Before Megabaa agreed, she said Tamako should beg first. If Tamako does, she will forgive her for what happened 4 years ago. It wasn’t mentioned what happened 4 years ago unfortunately. Tamako agrees to this and bows her head. Megabaa accepted it and went to work on the metatag. Fumie snatches the metatag. She wouldn’t let Tamako have the metatag easily unless Tamako releases Daichi. Daichi was released as Tamako was left with no other choice. It doesn’t end there yet. Fumie tells Daichi to admit his defeat in their duel. Left with no other choice as well, Daichi bows his head and admits his defeat.

Even after the trouble Daichi caused, he hardly felt down. Though he was sad about the little fish he caught and fed.

Episode 12

Kyoko always hangs out with Daichi to search for an Illegal. The second time Daichi brought a sleeping Kyoko home, Kyoko suddenly kissed him. After that, the next scene is of a naked Daichi (twice actually; only his butt could be seen though) checking himself down there; wondering when his hair would grow and if it would grow on his face first. Denpa calls him. When Daichi wore his glasses to answer the call, he saw his face on the mirror and freaked out. He went into hiding after that. Denpa’s worried, but Fumie tells him that they’ll see each other on school anyway the following day.

Like what you see from the screenshots, Daichi suddenly has a beard. The children from their school are all shocked. A beard for his age isn’t actually normal, right? *lol* Daichi was in a daze, while Megabaa was having fun with his beard. Fumie, Yasako, Denpa, Haraken, and Megabaa investigate this with Megabaa’s newly invented extremely huge and weird microscope. They discover that the hairs are living Illegals. Kyoko then shows up while they were investigating. Yasako looks at her and sees she’s got the HIGE-looking ILLEGAL too! It was hilarious when they tried to keep away from Kyoko. XD Kyoko of course took advantage of their being scared. Denpa was the next victim. Everybody else grew beards too after a few hours including Densuke and Fumie’s slave. Yasako cried as she exclaims she can’t be a bride anymore. ^_^;;;

Megabaa took a closer look and discovered that the beard-looking Illegals are actually making their own civilization. Yasako communicates with them through another of Megabaa’s invention. She acts like their god as she teaches them what to do or not. As usual, not everything works out as she wanted for them. Eventually, the Illegals created weapons and fought with each other until a lot of them died. The children sent them off to Mr. Toma who’s bald, but the Illegals then left. They left a letter on Mr. Toma’s head. They explained they will find a promised land that is right for them.

This is somewhat a funny episode. You don’t normally see girls nor grandmothers with beards. XD

The beard-looking Illegals are like humans. As much as they had rules to follow, there are still people who against them. There are those who will create trouble or demand more. When things go against their wants or ideals, they start to fight which doesn’t result to anything good.

Gintama Ep. 38-40

November 14, 2007 @ 2:52 am (1 Comment)

Episode 38

It’s still winter time in Gintama. Gintoki and Kagura are making an ice sculpture that doesn’t look decent for ‘public viewing’ as Shinpachi states. But Gintoki says it’s the Neo Armstrong Cyclone Jet Armstrong Cannon. Everybody seems to know about it, but each have different background stories. Poor Shinpachi is getting confused. ^_^;;;

Gintoki and Kagura destroy other people’s works because theirs are really crappy compared to them. In the end, all the people have a snowball fight and argue.

The second part of this episode is about a man who used to make fireworks. He’s so into them that he barely looked after his wife anymore. The Yorozuya was hired by the man’s son to look after him because he’s always escaping from their house. He was able to escape once. Gintoki followed him. The man was busy in a house creating more fireworks. He’s trying to be in touch with craft once more. Gintoki found out he’s not creating fireworks because he wants to do it again… He just wants his wife to see the fireworks once more.

After such a hilarious first part in this episode, the second part is actually touching. It might be bad for them to see how much the man wants to leave the house. They didn’t know that what he’s been doing is actually for his wife. He just won’t admit it. He kept saying he would be going out to meet his girlfriend/lover. :/

Episode 39

It’s an episode dedicated to Katsura. ^_^
Katsura is being chased by the Shinsengumi. Sougo kept shooting his bazooka, so Katsura ends up with an injured foot. He was saved by a woman with the name Ikumatsu who owns a ramen shop. He worked there temporarily while he waits for his foot to heal and for the Shinsengumi to lie low. That same day, Ikumatsu was bugged by 3 guys asking for money. Katsura, probably in return for the woman’s kindness, helped her by kicking them out. The bad guys though doesn’t let this pass. They kidnapped Ikumatsu. Katsura then noticed that something was wrong. The woman left a note about doing the groceries when the bike they use is still in front of the shop. He chased after them. He rescued Ikumatsu, but he had to escape because Sougo was already after him.

Not much of a hilarious episode, but it’s nice to see Katsura being nice than only think about fighting off the aliens. ^_^ Poor Elizabeth was abandoned and tried to live on its own. I wonder if Elizabeth’s really what she looks like or is it just some costume? @_@

Episode 40

A new movie’s a huge hit in Edo. It’s YAKUZA VS ALIEN. ^_^;;; The title itself is already funny. *lol* Anyway, off-screen, an alien really has gone to Edo. An alien was first discovered in some place I can’t say what. It’s probably where aircrafts are being fixed, managed, etc. Luckily, this person who calls himself “Umi-bouzu” was there and killed it off, but he said that the real thing is somewhere in Edo and the technicians who saw him should report it right way to the police.

Kagura got a phone call from a scammer. The scammer impersonate’s a friend of a person he/she calls. They would ask for help by having money deposited to their account. Kagura doesn’t know this, so she runs of thinking Gintoki called her. Gintoki got out from the washroom after Kagura rushed out. Shinpachi showed him a warning on TV about this scammer until they thought Kagura might have fallen for that scam. So they also rushed out for her. Kagura was really in the bank, but instead of depositing money, she was swinging rice. Aside from the commotion she’s making, a man also in the bank was possessed by the alien. The alien was about to eat Kagura along with Gintoki and Shinpachi who was supposed to save her until the Umibouzu came and rescued them. It turned out he’s Kagura’s father.

He’s looking for her to bring her back home. Kagura doesn’t want to. It seems the father became a problem for the family as he always left them for his work. They fight each other. Kagura only stopped when Gintoki told her to go back home.

Kagura’s a main character in the series, so I know she’ll be back in case she does leave. The question is, would she be back right away or Gintoki and Shinpachi will have new adventures on their quest to get back Kagura? ^_^ Can’t wait for the next episode!

Gintama Ep. 37

November 12, 2007 @ 3:58 am (0 Comments)

Ooh, it’s Christmas time in this episode! ^_^
Gintoki goes out to buy meatbuns on a snowy night. He was talking to himself when he comes across Santa Claus and his reindeer. He doesn’t know who Santa Claus is and what he does, but after hearing their problem he offers them help. He finds them a cart instead of a sleigh because Santa’s sleigh is broken and he also gives the two a makeover. He made them wear those usual burglar clothes in anime (you know, black tights *lol*). They go to an area where the poor people live. Gintoki goes through a notebook with the children’s list of wishes. Santa told him to only look for those who want a kendama because that’s all he’s got. ^_^;; Since it was almost sunrise, they decided to give it to a girl wishing for it. But the girl saw them. She called for her mom as she thought they’re burglars. *lol* Her mom’s huge and strong! No wonder she wishes for a kind mom. Undoubtedly, they got beat up.

The sun was already rising, so they decided to just give a child who wishes for something very cheap. Like what everyone says, it’s better than nothing. ^_^;; So, Kagura’s the only one who wants the cheapest gift. She only wants meatbuns. Gintoki takes the two with him. Instead of just leaving the meatbuns there, they make fun of Kagura’s face. Their prank doesn’t go unpunished though. ^_^;;

It was funny seeing Santa Claus in black tights and tiptoeing. XD Santa should have checked what the majority of kids want. He bought a lot of kendama, but only very few wants them. He’s cheap, but it’s true that we shouldn’t wish for very expensive stuff or whatever things that may exceed our current lifestyle. Because we’ll end up wishing or wanting more.

The second part is set on New Year. Kagura, Otae, and Shinpachi are at home waiting for Gintoki. Gintoki, on the other hand, went out to buy a double issue of JUMP, but he confronts another guy who wants the issue too. They both pay at the counter as they tried to pry off the magazine from each other though each do not have enough money to pay for it. They both for that single magazine. They fought over it like kids. When they wanted to make an old woman hold the magazine for them, it ends up being thrown on top of a truck loaded with Justaways. They go through a lot of dangerous events as they chased the truck. Later on, they find out that they were arguing over the wrong magazine. ^_^;;;

The following review/summaries aren’t grammar-checked. Excuse all the misspellings and wrong grammar.

Episode 35

(No screenshots as I forgot to take them. *lol* Too engrossed in the episode.)

This episode starts with Gintoki, Otae, and Kagura arguing on how to make a proper recap of what is going on with Shinpachi. The rest of the story ends within 8 minutes in this episode.

The Shinsengumi superior was interrogated by Hijikata and Sougo. He was called a molester being without his police notebook and wallet for his identification. The two laugh at him when they read a card left by the cat-eared girl who took his belongings and calls herself “Mysterious Thief Cat’s Ear.” Shinpachi became a target of that thief as well. Since Gintoki and the two girls waited outside for Shinpachi and this thief, they noticed that the thief left Shinpachi. They chased after her and attacked her. They also find out that she loves to play with men’s feelings. Shinpachi saved her from her sister and Kagura, but he attacked her too. ^_^V
The next story in this episode is about Kuriko, the daughter of the Shinsengumi superior (Matsudaira), who has a gangster-looking boyfriend. He wants to obliterate him because he doesn’t look good enough for his daughter. He comments on the guy’s piercings. He says that humans have a lot of holes already and there’s no need to add more. Matsudaira, Sougo, and Kondo follow the couple around a theme park. Hijikata is there too, but to keep an eye on the three. They were about to attack the guy to prevent the couple from kissing during their ferris wheel ride. Sougo had influenced the other two on this when he said that ferris wheel and kissing go together. Hijikata, suddenly calling himself Mayora 13, saves the guy from their attack. Kuriko develops a liking to him seeing how ‘cool’ he is.

The Shinsengumi guys never fails to amuse me. ^_^ Sougo is just awesome while Kondo is so… Gullible. *lol*

Episode 36

A girl named Hanako works where Otae does although she’s been skipping work. Otae and another co-worker saw her on a bridge. Hanako was about to jump off the bridge. Otae tells her that she should be at a shallow part of the river if she wants to catch crayfish. *lol* Anyway, Otae kicks her to save her. ^_^V
Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura are busy at the Shimura dojo making hot pot. They were able to buy the ingredients they need since they finally got money. But the hot pot they made looks inedible. *lol* Kagura even adds Otae’s favorite Bargain Dash ice cream. Her way of ‘neutralizing’ the awful taste of the hot pot they made. Eventually, Gintoki and Shinpachi got beat up.

Hanako explains the situation over their awful hot pot meal. She joined this group of Dream Catcher worshipers. Their leader grants them their wishes. Hanako wanted to be a dancer and, out of desperatin, she uses the money she saved to buy a mole that will help her get her wish. Otae punishes her to put some sense in her head. The worshipers were easily fooled by their ‘leader’ by showing them the Dream Catcher stance much like Goku of Dragon Ball’s hame hame wave (or is it kame hame wave? *shrugs*) that will give them their wish. The better they do this, the bigger chances of getting their wish. It’s obviously a scam, but desperate people are easily swayed. Gintoki and Kagura joins in, but later admits they did that to be able to know more about the group leader’s motives and tricks.

They discover that the leader is paying a ninja to help with the wish-granting trick. Of course, they can only give those who wish for material things. Gintoki and the rest prove to the members the real motive of their leader and show the trick to them. The people were so mad that they demanded their money back and they either beat up or killed their former leader.

In real life, there are scams that people join in because they are led to believe that they will receive a huge sum of money. These scams are usually slightly-easy work. Much like those internet sites that offer payment when you click ads. I read others didn’t get their checks/cheques after they have done their part. Be wary of the things you do. You never know where or what you’ll end up.

Gintama Ep. 34

Otsuu-chan’s fan club is quarreling in the train about the new female singer with cars and Otsuu-chan. Shinpachi, the captain of the fan club, isn’t happy about this and goes on a rage. Other than their quarrel, there’s another commotion going on in the train between a drunk man and a girl. When Shinpachi threw one of his members, he hit the drunk man thus saving the girl. The girl then thanks him for rescuing her. She shows then her cat ears. Shinpachi previously thought that cat ears are shit, his attitude and opinion of it turns into a 360 as he sees her. He fell in love with her. ^^; The story goes on like Densha Otoko. *lol* Shinpachi asks for advice in a chat/forum because he couldn’t rely on Gintoki for love adice. His first reply is from Fruits Punch Samurai who admits his name is Katsura. ^^; Aside from getting decent advices, those who replies to his posts quarrel online or makes fun of him. Then there’s one who gave him good advices. He thought it’s Gintoki when it was actually Sa-chan. *lol* Shinpachi gathers his courage and meets up with the girl with cat ears. His sister, Kagura-chan, and Gintoki follow them around. Poor Gintoki always gets beat up by the girls every time he tries to stop them. ^_^V
Watching Gintama is a great stress-reliever. *lol* Though it makes me sad that when an episode’s over, I am back to ‘reality.’ Know what I mean?

Dennou Coil Ep. 10

September 10, 2007 @ 3:44 pm (0 Comments)

The episode starts again with Yasako and another rumor she heard on the Net. She said that before glasses hit the market, the Nakatsu Crossroad was a mysterious place where many accidents occured. The statement is unrelated on the currents not until the part where she, Fumie, and Haraken went to Nakatsu Crossroads.

After Amasawa tried to burn down a Satchii, she disappears. Haraken is desynching and the others are terribly confused as to why there’s a Satchii in school. It was a hectic night for them with all the commotion that they got confused as to who won the game.

They all left the school the following morning. The Hackers Club met up with Isako to tell her that they won. Isako then says they lost because they didn’t get the glasses of the other team. Daichi ends up being rid of the club. Fumie, Yasako, and Haraken, on the other hand, were on the Nakatsu Crossroad to follow route Haraken discovered in his dream. They took a shortcut first, but decided to take the actual route when they didn’t find anything. When they did, they found an email with what looks like a password from Kanna.

With the help of her Grandma and after discovering that the password is actually what the letters show up if upside-down, they were able to access Kanna’s glasses. Yasako saw Kanna’s diary and read a part of it. The following day, she met up with Haraken who she apologized to for having read Kanna’s diary.

Haraken cried as he read. After that, he suddenly wanted to go to the route Kanna has on her diary, so they went to the Crossroads. Yasako tried to stop him. She told him that summer break just started and they could do that the following day. A mystery character took a picture of the two on the Crossroad. He wondered if the kids knew of the route.

That Isako character is such a know-it-all. I wish we will suddenly be given more background on this girl as I’m itching to punch my monitor everytime I see her. I want to know her goal and what’s all this Michiko-san about really. Argh~ Other than that, I’m all for the Yasako and Haraken pairing. *lol* This episode has proven that Yasako definitely likes Haraken. ^_^ As for the mystery character, I hope he shows up and is introduced in the next episode. :/

Dennou Coil Ep. 8-9

August 6, 2007 @ 11:14 pm (0 Comments)

Episode 8

“Kids that have fallen asleep with their glass on end up going to the other side.”

Yasako had a dream being on the mysterious staircase again. There was that, probably, male voice calling to her and telling her to be careful because she’s close to it. Whoever said that didn’t clearly say what that it was, but after she askined what 4423 means, a huge Illegal-looking thing was already behind her.

Amasawa’s busy on her plans in opening a hole on an obsolete space in school. She found out that Haraken’s Aunt is trailing her, so she also planned on making a diversion by using the Biology Club members to have a game of courage in the school grounds. The Hackers’ Club are then swamped with tasks for her. After a before-summer vacation speech for the school’s student body, Kanna’s mother talked to Haraken and gave him her daughter’s glasses. She tried to use it to find out what Kanna was doing before her death, but she couldn’t access it because it’s password-protected.

Yasako, Kyoko and a friend of theirs who’s also a member of the Biology Club (I forgot her name ^^;) went there ahead of Fumie. Haraken was there first and was awestruck when he saw Yasako in a kimono. Fumie arrived in late and Daichi’s obviously into her… Only that Fumie’s oblivious to that matter. The two other girls try to get the two together and the other girl tries to get Yasako and Haraken together. I’m so into the latter pairing. *lol* While the girls were busy talking about Fumie and Daichi, Haraken goes off and Yasako goes after him. They both saw an Illegal that’s actually Kuro. It is Kanna’s pet who got infected with an Illegal. It tries to get near Haraken and hands a stone to him. Unfortunately, it gets zapped by one of Satchii’s flying balls.

In the end of this episode, Daichi invites Fumie to the duel.

I think it’s not too bad to see some pairings develop in this series, but it might ruin the mood and plot of the anime. I guess I should be satisfied with the little hints between Yasako and Haraken. On the other hand, it might be too early to say that. I should have watched this series when it’s been completely subbed. *sighs* Every episode is like a cliffhanger to me. o_o I’m curious as to what that 4423, Michiko, and all those Illegals truly are. The ff. episode will be about the Biology Club’s friendship camp in school and the night when the duel will be held.

They’re like family ♥ ^_^

Yasako and Haraken’s compatibility rating XD

Gintama Ep. 33

July 19, 2007 @ 10:06 pm (0 Comments)

Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura try to fix their house. They ended up not fixing anything, but destroying the house further. Luckily, Sakamoto sent them a package. They didn’t have any idea what was in the package. They thought it was money. Before they opened it though, Gintoki read the included letter where Sakamoto wrote that getting a person’s name wrong is rude. But he keeps calling Gintoki as Kintoki. *lol*
Inside the parcel are 2 little men/aliens. They’re delivery carpenters paid by Sakamoto to fix the Yorozuya house. Their names are Unkei (the red guy) and Kaikei (the blue guy). Gintoki had motivated them to work on the house quickly by telling them a story about a famous carpenter named Mokichi. Everybody didn’t know Gintoki just made that story up. *lol* The Delivery Carpenters found out, but they still went ahead with the gang’s demands. They ended up having a castle that can float in the sky when the special button is pushed. The work was all in vain when a reporter pressed that button because he thought it was a doorbell.

Next episode is about Hermes — a girl with cat ears! Shinpachi has fallen in love other than Otsuu-chan. XD

Dennou Coil Ep. 4-7

July 14, 2007 @ 2:50 pm (1 Comment)

Episode 4

Amasawa is new to the class, but is giving everyone a cold shoulder including Daichi who was asking her her to join his all-boys club. Daichi wouldn’t let that pass and makes a prank against her. It only backfires causing his system/glasses to overload. He won’t stop though until he teaches her a lesson. They’re just fighting against each other until the end of the episode. Amasawa is on a completely high and different level with Daichi. She’s able to operate even without using her hands. There was also a part when Amasawa and Yasako had a little talk about ‘friendship,’ but Amasawa can’t be taken in easily by mere words. Yasako should learn to talk back when confronted like that… She’s too weak-willed. Tsk, tsk.

Fumie also joined in the fight between Amasawa and Daichi. She was trying to gain information from Amasawa while she’s busy with the boys. She only got little information though. Fumie thinks it was useless, but Yasako was shocked when she saw it. Whatever that was, this ending doesn’t seem exciting unlike the previous episodes, although I’m curious to what Yasako saw.

Episode 5

So we’ve got a new character in the series. His name’s Haraken and is the president of the Biology Club. Three of them — Fumie, Haraken, and Yasako — are going on a trip to find out more about illegals, but it became a hunt for metabugs. Plans also changed when they found out that Daichi’s club and Amasawa will be going out on a metabug trip too. The Biology Club members follow them until they arrived at their destination — a bus graveyard. There are lots of metabugs, but Amasawa tells the boys that there are bigger ones around. They dig under fifteen buses. Amasawa had other plans though. She only used the boys to find the right spot for her to open a space and get an Illegal. Not everything goes in plan when 2 Satchiis arrives. This scares everyone causing a lot of mess. Fumie, Yasako, and Fumie’s brother get chased by a Satchii until Haraken saves them. Ooh, a major surprise (and cliffhanger)! One more thing that surprised me is Haraken’s VA. XD Remember Edward Elric? *lol* Yep, Haraken is voiced by Paku Romi. Ah, this makes me miss FMA. ;_; Haraken is absolutely the opposite of Elric though. He’s a quiet kid. ^^;
Anyway, back to the plot of this episode, Daichi realizes that Amasawa is an encoder! Instead of trying to beat her, he’s now an underling of hers. He wants to become an encoder as well. Let’s see if he can handle being someone under than being the boss. XD

Episode 6

Fumie and Asako try to find out his relation to the Satchiis in town. Fumie thinks he’s evil to have a pet like Satchii. Wht they didn’t know is that Haraken’s sister created Satchii that is used to eliminate Illegals or fix broken spaces. After much search, they come across Haraken and, well, just talks and asks him about Satchii & his relevance to them plus his research on Illegals.

I’m getting tired of the fact they always have to search for Kyoko. Yasako should sometimes let her mom know that she can’t bring or take out Kyoko with her because it’s dangerous outside. That’s already a pretty obvious reason. Tsk, I don’t want to see Kyoko in the next few episodes please. ~_~ Densuke’s in danger too because of her.

Episode 7

Fumie and Yasako decides to help Haraken on his research about Illegals. They were already making plans when they were summoned by Mega-baa due to a case of a missing pet. Mega-baa told them that there’s a treasure and the secret is stored in the pet… 1/3 Would be given to them if they find it. Out of excitement and the need for money, they go out and look for it. The place where the hamster was last seen is also where Amasawa and the boys are doing some kind of Illegal-hunt. The boys don’t know about the hunt though. They were only asked to look after the encodes Amasawa did.

What I didn’t want to see happened in this episode again. ~_~ Kyoko followed Fumie and Yasako because she thought they were out to play. Fumie then asked Kyoko to help them search for the pet hamster. She found it, but Yasako lost track of her. Amasawa was the one who found Yasako and both were trapped in Amasawa’s own trap. It was set up in case an Illegal tries to run away. They wanted to ask help from Kyoko, but she didn’t and was only trying to run away from an Illegal that Amasawa was able to lure out before all these happened.

There’s nothing good about this episode especially if it concerns Amasawa. I don’t like her character, I don’t like it when Daichi’s there, and all their fighting is just *yawns*. Kids fight. I hope something interesting comes up in the next episode. Like why is Amasawa an encoder and what was on her back that Yasako saw in one of the previous episodes? O_o
Anyway, seems like the girls were fooled on the so-called treasure. They thought it was the kirabug because the pet owner said the treasure’s something shiny. It was actually her husband’s head. *lol*

Gintama Ep. 28-32

July 11, 2007 @ 6:21 pm (0 Comments)

Episode 28

Today, the most unlucky people are all you Virgos out there… Today you die! ^_^ *lol* It’s Kondo’s unluckiest day ever! Matsudaira takes him to visit Tendoshun to the incident at Rengokukan. Although the Rengokukan’s motives are bad, it is supported by those. This wasn’t very good news for Kondo and their trip to Tendoshun didn’t give him to calm down for even just a minute. *lol*
The Yorozuya, Otose-san, and Otae-san among others make quick appearances in this episode. They’re not entirely related to the story anyways. Their quick appearances mean they just happen to be where Kondo, Matsudaira, and Sa-chan pass by. ^_^ Kondo keeps getting pointed with a gun, beat up, shot at, etc. Tendoshun somehow forgave them for what happened at Rengokukan, but I don’t think they’ll be free if it happens again. So… I thought he survived the day, but I thought wrong. Kondo sees Otae-san with Kagura. He rushes to her, trips, and accidentally hits Otae-san’s head. ^_^ It’s up to our imagination what would happen next. *lol* Hmm… Will this be the last time we’ll Kondo?

At episode 28, it’s good that the art and humor doesn’t degrade. I’m sure the humor won’t and I hope the art would stay the same. Other anime’s animation tend to suck once it’s past maybe 10 or so episodes.

Prince of Tennis OVA Ep. 1-11

June 19, 2007 @ 12:10 pm (1 Comment)

I watched this weeks ago, but didn’t get the time to blog about it. As much as I want to do a per-episode rant/review, I couldn’t. ^^;;; I’m too busy with school and I’ve been sleeping a lot lately. *blames the freakin’ weather* I’ll be skipping the per-episode reviews as I’m sure a majority of you have read them in other anime blogs or have watched the episodes already. What’s the point of this post then? Err, I’m not too sure. XD;

I’m glad I finished the TV series of PoT and caught up with the OVA. The art has improved a lot. *_* They look so shiny and HOT. Haha~ I wanna say pretty, but they’re all boys so I think HOT’s the right word. X3 It wasn’t disclosed why Ryoma went back to Japan just in time for the Nationals. Though, imo, it could be because he’s still young and it will take a lot to defeat all those foreign competitors. I mean, for his first time in the Open, defeating everyone is just crazy and impossible. At least they put a bit of realism in the story. *lol* The tennis teams from other schools are evil. Seemingly evil. They’re all like, “I’m going to crush you! RAWR!” ^^; My favorite episode, so far, is episode 7. *roflmao* Who wouldn’t love a filler episode like that? Only it was a bit gross seeing Coach Ryuzaki wearing bikini and her bouncing boobies. X_X

Oh my goodness, he looks like a Yuu Watase character. *rofl* XDDD
Bishie!

Episode 11 is the when Tezuka beats Kabaji. Tezuka was in the advantage when it rained since most, if not usually, of the players are not used to playing under the rain. Is it just me or does Tezuka’s personality seem different? O_o Next episode, we’ll probably be seeing Oishi and Kikumaru playing as a pair again. ^^ Atobe hasn’t played yet, right? I guess Ryoma will play against him then. ^^

Dennou Coil Ep. 1-3

June 12, 2007 @ 2:44 am (0 Comments)

I guess it’s time for me to get back to reviewing anime. I was planning on reviewing a lot of series, but time won’t permit me atm. It sucks having a board exam. XP But I’m sure it would be worth all the hard work once I pass it. :3

Anyway, I forgot how I got to know of Dennou Coil and what made me download the series. I have been itching to watch it ever since I got the subbed episodes. I was almost disappointed with the art. It doesn’t have the typical anime art we are familiar with. There are no bishies at this point, but I doubt there would be one in the succeeding episodes. :/ But the art is not a big deal when the plot is interesting. I guess some of you who have seen it may find it boring, but for me it isn’t. It’s surprising to see the probability of technology advancing to that stage, yet people still live simply. The technology in the anime deals with cyberspace; of beings coming from the digital world. Viruses also exists. The security officials have created moving robot-like anti-viruses they call Satchii, yet are still buggy since they couldn’t differ real or clean beings from viruses. O_o It’s impressive how shrines can’t be penetrated by these Satchii nor schools and residences. Well, people being targeted need a safe place anyway. ^^; I didn’t think this anime has a sci-fi theme because the OP gave me the impression that it’s war-related and depressing. *lol*
The protagonist in this anime is Yuko. She and her family just moved to Daikoku where her Grandma lives. Daikoku seems to be more technologically-advanced than her old hometown. On her first day there, she finally gets herself in trouble with an “illegal.” Her cyberpet Densuke gets tangled in it as well by accidentally getting to an obsolete Space. Well, he was found in the end, but his troubles doesn’t end there. ^^; Everything goes well for him in the third episode when an Illegal that infected him was finally removed. There was a girl who was trying to kidnap Densuke too… That really sucked, but I’m glad he was back at Yuko’s hands. :3 In the third episode, the girl who was after Densuke is actually Yuko’s classmate and they even have the same name.

Densuke crying
Aww, Densuke’s crying because he’s being chased by small furry creatures

You know, the only thing I don’t like in this anime is that pixel things they’re after makes me think there’s something wrong with the video. :S

Gintama Episode 27

May 2, 2007 @ 3:03 am (0 Comments)

Okita shows the Yorozuya the Rengokukan. It’s an underground arena where, instead of ordinary fighting or wrestling, competitors will kill with swords or any other method. An upper official seems to be behind this that’s why the Shinsengumi isn’t doing anything about it. Kidoumaru is the strongest in the Rengokukan. A fighter like him in the arena is part of the ’show’ the higher ups planned for the Rengokukan. Okita asked the Yorozuya to do something about it, so that would close down. He requested to have Kidoumaru defeated. Pasta (Shinpachi) and Yama-san (Kagura) were against this. Gintoki gave in though for the pay. They went ahead with their job, spied on Kidoumaru, then they find out he adopted kids and took care of them in compensation for his evil deeds.

I was really looking forward to another episode of Gintama, only to be a bit disappointed with this. I was expecting something very hilarious, but the seriousness in this show is like 80% of the time. XP I hope the next episode would be better. Judging from the preview, it seems it would be… Yet it really is too early to say.

Gintama Ep. 22-26

April 23, 2007 @ 11:29 am (0 Comments)

Episode 22

After some episodes, a new character is introduced. Her name’s Shimatsuya Sa-chan. It’s not stated clearly who she is and what she really does. When she suddenly fell through the roof of Yoruzuya, she decided to stay there and act as Gin-san’s wife. The Yoruzuya aren’t very happy, of course. Shinpachi wants to get rid of her asap, but Gintoki couldn’t find a way to do it. Sa-chan, on the other hand, thinks she’s got Gintoki at the palm of her hands. Sa-chan doesn’t seem to be a very bright girl, but she was able to fool Gintoki to go to Nezumiya and fight along with her.

This is a very hilarious episode. *lol* I guess you can fool your enemy by rubbing their heads especially when that enemy is an animal. XD

Gintama Ep. 18-21

Episode 18

I only have one screenshot for this episode because I was lazy to get screenshots and I ate while watching. XD

Gosh, I wish the rasta dude in the intro of this episode be a regular character. XD I can’t believe I’d see one in Gintama. I’m not a Rastafarian, but since I listen to reggae… Which is known for Rastafarians to listen to, I have developed some interest in them. ^_^
There’s a panty thief on the loose. One of the victims is Shinpachi’s sister. They ask for Gintoki’s help. The Shogunate police also helped because Chief Kondo likes Shinpachi’s sister. ^_^ Chief Kondo was first accused of being the panty thief because he stalked Shinpachi’s sister too much. *lol* They went all out to capture the panty thief. To the point that they put landmines around the house of Shinpachi and his sister. They set it up yet they didn’t remember where they put it, so when they tried to chase the panty thief, they got into their own traps. The panty thief’s purpose, btw, is to bring hope to all the single men who couldn’t get girlfriends. Mostly really bad, ugly looking guys were shown as an example of these single men.

Episode 19

Hasegawa makes another appearance in this episode. He and Gintoki went to the beach to take on a hunt with a bounty. They didn’t know how much the bounty was, but they still went just to get money. It’s a huge fish that scared away people from the beach. The fish wasn’t there to scare the people though. It only wanted to play with the people. The person who put a bounty on the fish (he only gave souvenir shirts to the guys as their incentive when they catch the fish) made a business out of it.

Gintama Ep. 11-17

March 21, 2007 @ 6:06 pm (0 Comments)

I watched this during finals and hell (when I worked on two Plumbing workouts) week/s. Actually, the last 2 weeks of last term got me wasted. ~_~ I’m behind on Gintama, yet I don’t feel like skipping out summaries on those old episodes. I’m sure other anime blogs have already blogged about those old episodes and you’d rather skip reading this post, but I would still do the summaries. I’ve watched from episodes 11-21. The summaries in this post will only be up to episode 17. The rest will be posted soon.

I feel like no one’s visiting my blog. ~_~ Aah… This is saddening.

Episode 11-12

The story continues after Shinpachi and Gintoki gets hit by a car. Gintoki is fine, but Shinpachi isn’t. He got a broken leg that made him a bit useless for the group. ^^; They meet in an old man in the hospital who asked them to look for a woman he was in love with when he was younger. It turns out that the woman is Otose-san. I wonder if she does remember the old man… Well, maybe she did. I couldn’t believe that the oh-pretty Ayano in her younger days is the same as the old Otose. ^^; She’s so hot-headed now.

The second story is about Catherine, Otose’s assitant in her snack shop. She worked there to support her family. Little did they know that the recent thievery happening around the area is caused by her. The Yorozuya finds out when they saw her leaving with their stuff (including Gintoki’s scooter). They didn’t let her escape. Kagura drove madly through the streets ruining a lot of structures, hitting cars… And accidentally falling to the water when they reached the pier. ^^;

Les Miserables: Shoujo Cossette Ep. 1

February 16, 2007 @ 10:04 am (0 Comments)

For the new anime that started just this year, I decided to take a look in Les Miserables: Shoujo Cossette. (If anyone else can make a suggestion for other new anime, please tell me… I have no clue on what’s new and good.) The first episode shows Fantine (Cossette’s mother) and Cossette walking to some town looking for a place to stay and a job for Fantine. Several people have rejected Fantine because they didn’t have much money to pay for workers nor do they allow people with children to work. In the end, Fantine was forced to leave Cossette with a family that she paid in advance for her food and shelter. That’s what she thought though. The family who temporarily adopted her turned her into a maid. Instead of wearing her nice clothes, she was told to wear a worn out dress. As for Fantine, she made it to the next town and was able to get work.

She should have just taken Cossette with her. Leaving her with strangers is just NO. The family doesn’t even look trustworthy except the children. ~_~

Gintama Ep. 9-10

November 30, 2006 @ 12:25 am (0 Comments)

I would love to go into details about this show, but I’m going to save you from my crappy English and just say — WATCH GINTAMA! XDDD I’m glad to see more of Hijikata in the recent episodes including these two. ^_^ In episode 9, Gin, Shinpachi and Kagura were talking with their minds. They even had this burped thing that doesn’t seem to have a connection with what they were talking about. XD I love how their eyes looked when they burped. I took screenshots of that, btw. Hehe~

Episode 10

A large dog was left behind Gin’s shop. Kagura decides to keep it, but Shinpachi and Gin were against it. They tried to give it to someone else while Kagura was taking a nap. *lol* Unluckily, they were found out. Poor Gin got thrown in the air by Kagura and falls head first in Sadaharu’s mouth. ^^
Prince Hata visits Earth again. His previous visit was when he still had the pink octopus. This time he visits Earth to see the zoo. He wants to bring home a pet before he leaves and “kidnaps” Sadaharu after accidentally hitting it, Gin, and Shinpachi. The old geezer with the prince is stupid — he ties the dog on top of their car with Gin. >_>

Episode 05

Episode 06

Episode 07

What happened to my screenshots!? They’re all just white. XP
Gin is in a pinch. Otose is asking for their monthly rent and he still couldn’t pay. He hasn’t even paid Kagura and Shinpachi either. Gin told Shinpachi to go out with Otose *lol* that it might help with their rent. XD A bit later, some government guys from the immigration bureau paid a visit Gin. They asked him, Shinpachi, and Kasuga to look for a pink Octopus which is a pet of Prince Hata. They didn’t want to do it, but changed their minds when they saw the generous amount of money they were going to get. They did find the pink Octopus. Although, they accidentally squashed it. The first one they saw was a look-alike… Not a definite look-alike, but it’s a woman with just pink hair. XD The woman’s eyes and the octopus’ look the same too.

Damn, I had some great screenshots from this episode. I wonder why my Zoom Player can’t take screenshots other than avi files.

What the-!? I didn’t know I haven’t made any posts from Gintama’s episode 4 to 6!? (If you’re wondering about episode 7, I did it on purpose to post episode 8 before it. Hehe~) Oh well, just screenshots for this episode til the 6th. ^_^;;;

Gintama Ep. 8

November 27, 2006 @ 2:57 am (0 Comments)

24-Hour Expose of the Out-of-Control Shinsengumi! *roflmao* This show makes me laugh til my cheeks start to hurt. XD The shinsengumi may be serious people, but they sure are made up of weird characters. While the shinsengumi are busy capturing those who want to infiltrate the government, Kondo is busy proposing to Otae — Shinpachi’s older sister. They’re not really boyfriend-girlfriend… Kondo’s just Otae’s customer in a bar. ^^;;; Everday he stalks her until Gin steps into the scene. Otae said Gin’s her fiance and all, so Kondo and him decides on a duel. Kondo is busy with such matters with the shinsengumi unaware of what he is up to. ^^;;; Hijikata thinks their captain is busy talking with the higher ups or practicing with his sword. Kondo and Gin goes on with their duel. Gin lends his wooden sword which is actually broken. In other words, he cheated so he would surely win. No wonder he was very late in their duel. He was busy cutting up the wooden sword! *lol*
Hijikata’s becoming my favorite character! XDDD You’d have to watch the show and _hear_ him to know why. This show is just pure humor. Pure nonsense… My Gintama posts will likely become nonsense as well. ^^; J/k! Fave word in this episode — LOLILOLILOLIED!

This series is full of craziness. I couldn’t figure out what time this is actually taking. It’s like the aliens have brought the “future” in the “past.” ^^;;; If that didn’t make any sense, then forget it because I also don’t understand. But I see no need to comprehend this. Gintoki may say things with sense or he may seem serious, but things sometimes get worst for him and his comrades. In episode 3, it covers about Shinpachi’s encouter with Gintoki I forgot his name. ^^ *lol* I’m debating whether or not I should prioritize my download of this series. I’ll prolly go ahead with Jigoku Shoujo and Ergo Proxy first before this one.

Btw, ELIZABETH ROCKS! *rofl* J/k!

Thanks, pi3ce_of_cr4p, for trading this with me. XD I knew this is hentai, but I saw one wallpaper of this series and I was impressed with the art. I took the screenshots some time ago and just forgot to make a review. I can barely recall the storyline. I only remember that it’s about a war between the Tribe of Light and the Tribe of Darkness. The King of the Tribe of Darkness has a son who’s clumsy and can’t even fight. It’s not much of a trouble for the King because he has good fighters with him. One day, they were, I think, ambushed by the Tribe of Light. The son was brought to another place due to some incident that was unknown to them. None of them knew what happened to him. The son doesn’t even know where he had gone. He also lost his memories. 10 Years later, he seemed to have gotten to the Tribe of Light’s place. The King of the Tribe of Light was able to identify him. He gave him a new name and made him one of his knights.

Animation-wise, it’s pretty so-so… It reminded me of Slayers. ^^ There’s slight humor, which is good. But, even so, I find all hentai humorous. *lol* The sex scenes were okay. Nothing that grossed me out except for the rape scene done by the horse. It was really gross. XP I almost kicked my mom’s laptop from the sick sight of it. *bleh* It’s good that Words Worth has a storyline. There are other things going on aside from sex, sex, sex that is common is almost all hentai shows. When you watch this, though, it’s pretty obvious that they tried to put sex scenes in it. Like, for instance, the son, whose name I just recalled is Astral, is always put into an opportunity on being alone with a girl. Whether it’s those girls with bat wings or those “normal” girls.

Cream Lemon 2 - Escalation 1

July 27, 2005 @ 11:52 am (0 Comments)

Cream Lemon is a long hentai series. I’m not sure what it is exactly about, but I remember reading from one site that most episodes are just pointless. (PWP maybe. *lol*) Lilicious subbed the first of 2 episodes that has yuri content and, somehow, a plot. I watched this a few months ago. I watched it again a few weeks back for “rants” sake. ^^; I wonder if this is the Japanese’s impression of the girls in an exclusive school. It could be possible, but this is just bad. Would you really make out and go all the way in the chapel? Whatever. I’ll try to keep in mind that this is pure fiction. Anything goes. T_T So the girl is easy to get. Then this girl who seems to be the president of the student council isn’t as innocent and pure as she looks. The sex scenes are okay. The new tranferee is noisy as expected. That annoyed me, but one of her lines, “Ah! It’s going inside me!”, cracked me up. XD; I can’t imagine someone shouting that while having sex. (For the pinoys, imagine — “Ah… Pumapasok sa loob kooooooo~~!!!”) Egads.

Buzzer Beater Ep. 9

It was already the subs turn to play, but when they were showing off their skills, the scene where the first set played were shown. I don’t know if the producers/animators wanted this episode to be over quickly and were recycling scenes, but these are easily noticed if you watch this anime simultaneously. In other things, the red-head Gyoran is really a cutie.

Buzzer Beater Ep. 8

May 2, 2005 @ 11:44 am (0 Comments)

The old man unexpectedly went to a private conference among the intergalatic league team owners. He announced to them the pursuance of the Earth Team to join the league. Some members didn’t approve of this, but the “head” had given the old man a chance being that he helped in starting the league. The Earth Team is to compete against a minor.

The whole “galaxy” seems to have made a big fuss out of Earth Team’s determination in joining the league. They did great in defeating an underground team, but when Tono fought with an intergalactic league player, they seem to be a lot different from them. That alien had incredible speed! And that alien is red-head cutie. ;D

Buzzer Beater Ep. 7

May 2, 2005 @ 11:42 am (0 Comments)

I’m so happy that the match went on only for this episode. XD The Earth Team’s coach made the right decision to leave the youngsters. When the Smokey Queens changed players, the ball also did. It was lighter. DT made Cha-Che have a feel of the ball and Cha-Che knew she could handle the shooting then. They did a wonderful comeback and was able to score a lot of points ahead of Smokey Queens. Since the group won, they decided to take Lazuli (from Smokey Queens) to be part of Earth Team.

Minor complaints about the animation — Lazuli looks like Cha-Che when he was still young. Actually, a lot of the characters look like Cha-Che. XD Even Rose does. (Not that it matters a lot. *lol*) Also, when DT passed the ball to Cha-Che the ball to call for a time-out, the same scene was also on episode 6. I thought there was something wrong with my video player. They used the same scene for two episodes!

Buzzer Beater Ep. 6

May 2, 2005 @ 11:38 am (0 Comments)

The Earth team goes to Smokey Queens’ home. (I wonder what planet it is.) Instead of placing a bet or disbanding the lost team, Lazuli (the human guy in Smokey Queens) chose to get Cha-Che if they lose. This is a tough decision for the owner (also Cha-Che’s grandfater), but this is the starting step for the Earth’s team. Ivan, Cha-Che, Tono, and the afro-guy are currently on bench as inexperienced players should watch the game and their opponents first. Tono wasn’t the least happy about this.

The stadium and the audience are terrifying. The support for the Smokey Queens can get the other team nervous is intimdating. There are no rules in the Underground basketball game. This has totally taken the other players by surprise. Except for Rose, shouldn’t he be aware of this? Why was he calling for a foul? O_o

Buzzer Beater Ep. 5

May 2, 2005 @ 5:40 am (0 Comments)

The two boys wonder who Ivan is really. He barely speaks, a slob, watches anime… He does things uncommon for an “adult.” Tono tells him off, even calling him an old man, but Ivan suddenly says, “Don’t call me old man. I’m only 15.” His size is like that of a gorilla, but he _is_ only 15. ^^; Wow. The team was then called for a meeting since Grandpa has decided to get them a match. It was a match against the Smokey Queens (aka Bloody Queens). It was a team in the Underground League. A betting league with NO rules.

When Smokey Queens was first shown I thought how “human” one of them looks like. It’s kind of odd for a human to play alongside with aliens.

Buzzer Beater Ep. 4

May 2, 2005 @ 5:38 am (0 Comments)

The players are all gathered now. Tono just made a shameful and hilarious introduction of himself. *lol* I can’t wait to see how he plays seriously. One of the players has the same name as my brother. I must remember to joke him about it. *lol*

The last time I saw men wearing cycling shorts/spandex was in Gundam Wing. Actually, that was only Heero. Now I’m seeing them again. ^^;;; But they look like black body painting than clothing. Black body painting on that part of the body is still bad, don’t you think? Anyways, it seems Tono is now the PG. He is better than I thought he was.

J/k! The best shooter in the team’s name is Maru and so is my brother. Oh, I like the green-spiked hair guy. :D

Buzzer Beater Ep. 1-2

March 3, 2005 @ 1:40 am (1 Comment)

Let’s see how long I will last in watching Buzzer Beater. I’m not a basketball fan, but my brother told me some nice things about this anime. He got to watch an episode in WOWOW. This is the second sports anime I’ve seen. PoT being the first. ^^;
Episode 1

Tono and his friends are very poor. They make a living by playing against other basketball players. Tono’s friends praise him, so he shows off some dribbling moves. As he was about to shoot, he sees a girl in a window watching him. He hits his head on the ring, falls, then angrily searches for the girl. A red-head girl with red eyes. *lol* There’s also an appearance of another basketball player who resembles Tachibana Kippei (PoT). It’s the hair. >_>

How many members does one basketball team make? (I’m obviously ignorant when it comes to basketball. Would you believe I became the captain ball back in hs w/o knowing anything? *rofl*) I’m worried there would be a lot of characters like in PoT. @__@ I like the opening song’s intro. The song itself is also likeable. Ska-ish. Ska-ish because there are horns playing, but it’s not really ska. Know what I mean? Gyuma’s interesting. He looks like Michael Jordan with horns. You would think they were making fun of Chicago Bulls. ^^v

Episode 2

Tono lost to a female coach. Just like most male kids, their pride gets easily hurt. So he decides not to go with her and play and learn serious basketball. After a few days, he found out from his friends that Gyuma used to be like them. But Gyuma is now a famous and very good basketball player in the Intergalatic League. He finally makes a decision and goes to visit the coach with the owner of the earth’s basketball team.

They should explain how they got to find out about the “Hideyoshi-sama.” He does have a good reputation on basketball, but that’s just around their neighborhood. The red-head girl, Cha-Che, wasn’t very much impressed with his skills. This episode is still so-so. I hope it will get enjoyable soon. If this turns out to be like Dear Boys with only the aliens, then I won’t continue watching. Dear Boys bored me. ~_~
