Okita shows the Yorozuya the Rengokukan. It’s an underground arena where, instead of ordinary fighting or wrestling, competitors will kill with swords or any other method. An upper official seems to be behind this that’s why the Shinsengumi isn’t doing anything about it. Kidoumaru is the strongest in the Rengokukan. A fighter like him in the arena is part of the ’show’ the higher ups planned for the Rengokukan. Okita asked the Yorozuya to do something about it, so that would close down. He requested to have Kidoumaru defeated. Pasta (Shinpachi) and Yama-san (Kagura) were against this. Gintoki gave in though for the pay. They went ahead with their job, spied on Kidoumaru, then they find out he adopted kids and took care of them in compensation for his evil deeds.
I was really looking forward to another episode of Gintama, only to be a bit disappointed with this. I was expecting something very hilarious, but the seriousness in this show is like 80% of the time.
I hope the next episode would be better. Judging from the preview, it seems it would be… Yet it really is too early to say.
