Otae and Ane caused a ruckus in a bar they both work in. The manager wasn’t too pleased. Other than that, Otae has been excessively doing her bodyguard duties by beating the crap out of the pervy customers. Ane’s also a problem with her leeching off too much money from her customers. The manager decides one of them should leave the bar in one month as the ruckus can’t go on forever. Whoever gets to stay will be decided the following day as to whoever can get the most sales.
Before the night ended while Ane was on her way home, Otae apologized to her. Ane didn’t expect that as she was looking forward to a showdown of some sorts.
This episode also has the “Oshiete, sensei” segment. Gintoki teaches the viewers how to draw himself, Kagura, and Shinpachi. He says that Shinpachi is the basis for a lot of characters.
The episode’s funny as usual, but I really pity the guys for being used by the two wicked girls.
Episode 47
Everyone in the city has hay fever. Gintoki says it’s not caused by a cedar pollen, but by an alien plant. Kagura has ran out of tissues and tells Shinpachi to go out and buy some even after he said it’s best that they don’t go out.
Then Catherine shows up to give them a circular notice. Shinpachi freaked out when he saw they have to send the notice to Hedoro next. They chose who will hand it to Hedoro over rock-paper-scissors. Shinpachi, unluckily, lost. XD But they came up with a plan so that the doesn’t have to directly hand it to him. Unfortunately, while Shinpachi ran towards Gintoki and Kagura who were acting Kozure Ookami, his sandal strap snapped and he tripped. The notice flew and hit Hedoro’s face.
They ended up in Hedoro’s flower shop. All 3 are sitting so formally, scared as shit while Hedoro’s preparing a snack for them. Gintoki finally decides to charge against Hedoro. He tells the two to use it as an opportunity to escape. It’s not like he really wants to save them. It’s just that he saw a Jump magazine used as a stand for Hedoro’s fridge. *sweatdrop* But as he charged, Hedoro threw something that flew up beyond his house.
Thinking too much is bad, Gintoki and Shinpachi. Sometimes you have to listen to Kagura.
Episode 48
There are two stories in this episode.
The first is about the Paruko brothers’ attempt in bringing down Hijikata. It seems these guys are like Katsura who wants to bring down the government. They’re targeting Hijikata since he’s the head of the Shinsengumi.
It’s Hijikata’s day off which makes it easy for them to attack him. Their first attempt is during his food break. Unexpectedly, Gintoki’s also eating where Hijikata’s at. They both have weird foods that they even got into an argument about those. They used one of the brothers to taste test their food to see which is better. The Paruko attack fails, so the next brother is up. Hijikata then headed to a movie theater to watch My Neighbor Pedoro. A fight starts once again between Gintoki and Hijikata. Yes, Gintoki’s there too… I don’t know if it’s coincidence or he just wants to piss Hijikata off.
Hijikata’s annoyed that he keeps running into Gintoki. He tries to deny the fact that they think is the same. If that were the case, he tries to think of something that is opposite of what he really wants to do. Since he expects Gintoki to think that way, he’s going to think of the opposite of the opposite! Confusing, huh?
The second story is about Kagura’s intense playing on Kick the Can. The kids don’t want to play with her anymore because she can’t control her strength. An old man shows up and is happy with Kagura’s eagerness, so he invites her on a match. Kagura calls Gintoki to play with her and the old man. He didn’t want to, but Catherine takes the old man on. She kicks the can and tells him that if he can return the can in 20 seconds, they’ll play with him. But he did.
The guys didn’t know was that they were playing against the spirit of an old man who just loved playing kick the can. He’s actually a teacher of ninja arts. Sa-chan is one of his students.
Episode 49
I wonder why I don’t have much screenshots of this episode. D:
Hasegawa and Gintoki took their chance into gambling. The God of Misfortune must like them so much that they even lost their clothes. A man appears before them with their clothes and hands it to them. Curious, they watched, in the midst of a crowd, that man play. The audience were surprised and amazed by the man’s winning streak. Then an alien tells the people that the man could be Kanbei the fortune teller because of the scar on his right eye. Not believing much in luck, they thought they should look wild so that the Goddess of Luck with bless them. XD; Well, unfortunately, they’re really unlucky in gambling.
Kanbei saw them again. He seemed to have gotten them their clothes back. They had drinks and discussed about gambling. Kanbei classified Hasegawa and Gintoki as the second kind of gamblers — the reckless kind. He then told them to go home since they have been tarnishing the gambling area with bad luck.
It looks like Kanbei isn’t that lucky with gambling even. He got unlucky after being with the two guys. Not that they have been spreading unlucky vibes, but because he was only a fraud. He left his cheating pieces on the bar with the two. The two blackmails him, but their plan on having Kanbei help them get money didn’t push through. They got caught and was called in by the 4th head of the Kabuki district. Instead of physical punishment, they played mahjong. They had to defeat Akage who has a winning streak on mahjong.
Well, instead of giving you the ending, I suggest you watch it especially Gintoki fans who wanna see him nekkid!
